Mechanical Engineering Labs

The Mechanical Engineering (ME) Program has five core labs: Fluid Mechanics Lab, Heat & Mass Transfer Lab, Material Testing Laboratory, Control System & Measurements Lab and Mechatronics Lab—in addition to other fundamental science labs. These labs provide students with up-to-date experimental setups that allow them to experience the real-world outcomes of their theoretical knowledge. These labs form an integral part of the courses offered throughout the four years of the program. Through these labs, the students will not only enhance their understanding of the theoretical knowledge taught in the class, but also gain the skills of collecting and analyzing data, in addition to mastering the art of technical report writing. ME students also have access to other support labs, such as computer labs installed with advanced engineering software including ANSYS Fluent and Solidworks. Furthermore, the students have at their disposal a wide range of prototyping facilities such as metal fabrication machines, Laser cutting machines, and 3D printing machines. These facilities—software and hardware—are aimed at providing students with the needed infrastructure for designing and manufacturing prototypes for their course and senior projects.
